The Department of Lands, Surveys and Cartography despite budgetary constraints executed its statutory mandate during the year 2006.

The Office of the Assistant Minister, Hon. Julu M. Johnson received a total of three hundred (300) land related communications (cases or requests), including requests for surveys, requests for surveyors to serve as chairmen for Boards of Arbitration and land disputes between individuals requiring investigative surveys and decisions to ascertain or determine who the rightful owner is.

Of the total of three hundred (300) communications (cases or requests) mentioned supra, two hundred and fifty (250) were responded to under the signature of the Minister of Lands, Mines and Energy and or the Assistant Minister for Lands, Surveys and Cartography respectively and later investigated. The rest of the fifty (50) cases are pending, due to the inability of the complainants or those who made the requests to follow-up.

During the year under review, the Assistant Minister provided supervisory services for the implementation of the above mentioned cases and other projects, namely, are as follow on the Land Survey link.
